“We stayed for a weekend getaway in April 2014. We had amazing views and the best hospitality from the management office that anyone could ever ask for, they were above anything I’ve seen in years. They are very down to earth and accommodating to all guests. Leatherwood Mountain Resort had an on site restaurant that serves three meals a day. The food choices, service and quality were great. We traveled with four teenagers, one preteen and two adults. The home we selected had three levels including three very comfortable bedrooms, a basement full of entertainment, a gourmet kitchen on the middle level of the home, pool table, ping pong, hot tub, and mountain views that were outstanding. We all enjoyed the home and location. The Leatherwood Mountain resort has horse back riding, fishing, hiking trails and a seasonal pool on site. Prior to this visit to Leatherwood Mountain, we had never heard of the place, we found it by chance surfing the internet for mountain houses for rent in North Carolina. This area is more remote than Boone and Asheville, we found this to be a great asset to this getaway. Boone is about 30-40 minutes away. It’s about 2-3/4 hours from Raleigh, NC. If you enjoy privacy, peace and quiet along with great service and a fun getaway, this is the place!”
