Come and enjoy over 130 Mules and Donkeys for a family oriented celebration!
Ferguson, NC, May 1, 2015: Leatherwood Mountains Resort will be hosting the 3rd Annual Mule Days Celebration. There will be over 130 Mules and Donkeys from nine states in attendance. Free to attend and watch, here is your chance to get up close and personal with some of the countries top Mules and Donkeys! Bring your folding chair, because you are going to want to stay all day! The event this year is being held as a Fund Raiser for Lope For Hope, an organization helping Cow Girls who are undergoing cancer treatments.
Friday morning, we will host free educational seminars and live demonstrations. Just to name a few we will have a World Champion Mule Packer, Professional Equine Massage Therapist and a Natural Balance Hoof Trimmer. At 1:30pm don’t miss the Supreme Trail Mule Challenge Competition followed by a Mule Coon Jumping Competition, something not to be missed! Leatherwood will also be hosting a Dutch Oven Cook Off on Friday, preregister and begin cooking on Saturday morning for a 3:30pm time Judging, including a people choice award! We will conclude Friday evening with a Live Auction of hand-made and unique items to fund raise for Lope For Hope.
Saturday begins at 9AM with a Mule and Donkey Show in the main arena. Come see Mules and Donkeys perform in halter, Western Pleasure, Trail Classes and more. A silent auction will be held in the covered arena. At 4pm don’t miss the Parade through the grounds with competitions going on for Best Mule, Best Dressed Girl, Best Hitch, etc. Then Saturday evening we will be the Mule Celebration Dinner and hand out awards from all the competitions. We also have free events for the younger kids in mind. Enter the Coloring Contest, join in on a Scavenger Hunt and even bring your own or decorate your own stick mule to participate in the Stick Mule Class in the Show on Saturday.
