Just around 22 miles from Leatherwood Mountains Resort, is one of the best fall festivals in NC. This festival is famous for its delicious selection of food trucks and celebrates the rich North Carolina music roots with free live performances from local bands. The festival’s beer and wine proceeds benefit the Wilkes Heritage Museum, and the Annual Chad Lovette Memorial Run proceeds go towards the American Cancer Society.

5. Hickory’s Oktoberfest
Join in on this annual fall celebration of German heritage just around 40 miles from Leatherwood Mountains Resort. There will be live entertainment, kids activities, food and craft vendors, beer tents, and much more!
6. Brushy Mountain Apple Festival
Journey around 23 miles from Leatherwood Mountains Resort this fall for one of the largest arts and crafts festivals in not just NC but the entire Southeast. Downtown North Wilkesboro will be bursting with over 425 arts and crafts vendors, four music stages, and 100 food vendors. This annual apple festival has become one of the biggest fundraisers in Wilkes County, with hundreds of participating NC nonprofits and civic/church organizations.
